Marconi Express announces that, from Sunday 1 to Wednesday 11 October, the monorail service will be suspended, as provided for by the maintenance programme aimed at guaranteeing the constant safety of the system. During this period, the resin on the running route will be restored and other minor works will be carried out: the works have been grouped together to reduce inconvenience to passengers and interfere as little as possible with traffic at Marconi Airport during holidays and the main seasonal fairs.
During the suspension of the monorail service, from 5.40 a.m. to midnight the connection between the airport and Bologna Central Station, and vice versa, will be guaranteed by shuttle bus, with the following departure points
- at the airport on the ground floor at the arrivals exit;
- at Lazzaretto station in via Terracini;
- at the central station in via Carracci.
Transfers take approximately 25 minutes, with an intermediate stop at Lazzaretto station.
The service may be subject to change in the event of adverse weather conditions. Updated information on the status of the service will be available on the Marconiexpress.it website.
For airport passengers departing with the first flights of the morning or arriving with the last flights of the night, the “Marconi Express 940” night bus service is also available. There are two runs from Marconi airport to the central station in via Carracci, with departures at 1.15 a.m. and 4.30 a.m.; from the central station in via Carracci to the airport, runs at 0.42 a.m. and 4 a.m.
The costs and methods of purchasing tickets for the shuttle-bus service are the same as for the monorail service.
