Marconi Express informs that, from Tuesday 3 to Friday 13 September, the monorail service will be suspended, as foreseen by the maintenance programme aimed at guaranteeing the quality of the service. During this period, the resin on the monorail will be restored and other minor works will be carried out, which have been grouped together to reduce inconvenience for passengers.
During the suspension of the monorail service, from 5.40 a.m. to midnight, the connection between the airport and Bologna Central Station, and vice versa, will be by shuttle bus, with the following departure points:
- at the airport on the ground floor at the arrivals exit;
- at Lazzaretto station in via Terracini;
- at the central station in via Carracci.
Transfers take approximately 25 minutes, with an intermediate stop at Lazzaretto station.
The monorail service will resume on Saturday 14 September at 5.40 a.m., at the start of operations. Should operations change from what is scheduled, updated information will be given through the website and all Marconi Express channels.
For airport passengers departing with the first flights of the morning or arriving with the last flights of the night, the night bus service “Marconi Express 940” is available: there are two runs from Marconi airport to the central station in via Carracci, with departures at 1.15 and 4.30; from the central station in via Carracci to the airport, runs at 0.42 and 4.00.
The costs and methods of purchasing tickets for the substitute shuttle bus service and the “Marconi Express 940” road service are the same as for the monorail service.
The new 100% electric bus line “Marconi Express 949”, which connects the airport and the city centre, with its terminus in Piazza Malpighi, without intermediate stops, also remains operational. The line runs from 4 a.m. (with the first run from Piazza Malpighi) until 2 a.m. (last run from the airport at 1.32 a.m.). A discounted fare worth €9.80 is available for the single journey, without urban integration. The discounted fare can only be purchased on the MarconiExpress.it website, at the ticket machine at the Aeroporto terminus (payment by credit card is recommended) and through the Roger app, selecting the title “Flex solo Bus 949”.
