From 6 February to 11 March and from 20 to 26 March, monorail operating hours reduced for system development intervention

Marconi Express announces that, from Monday 6 February to Sunday 26 March, with the exception of the period from Sunday 12 to Sunday 19 March, the monorail service timetable will be subject to changes, the monorail service timetable will be subject to changes to allow a system development intervention to take place. The intervention has been planned so as to contain inconvenience for users and not interfere with traffic at Marconi Airport during holidays and major fairs in Bologna and Rimini.

Specifically, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the monorail service will run from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., while from 5:40 a.m. to 7 a.m. and from 9 p.m. to midnight, the connection between Bologna Airport and the central station will be provided through shuttle-bus.

On Fridays and Saturdays, the monorail service will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., with connection through shuttle-bus from 5:40 a.m. to 7 a.m. and from 10 p.m. to midnight.

The operating hours will vary less on Sundays and Mondays, which are characterised by greater airport traffic.

On Sundays, the monorail service will run from 7 a.m. to midnight, with a shuttle bus connection from 5.40 a.m. to 7 a.m.

On Mondays, the monorail service will operate from 5.40 a.m. to 10 p.m., with a shuttle bus connection from 10 p.m. to midnight.

The shuttle-buses will have the following departure points:

  • at the airport on the ground floor at the arrivals exit;
  • at the Lazzaretto station on Via Terracini;
  • at the central station on Via Carracci.

On Saturday 25 February, the monorail service will run until midnight, while on Sunday 26 February it will start regularly at 5.40 a.m.

On the occasion of Cosmoprof, the beauty trade fair taking place at Bologna Fiere, from Sunday 12 to Sunday 19 March the monorail service will run regularly from 5.40 a.m. to midnight.

The intervention consists in the installation and testing of “Winter Mode”, a software that will enable monorail vehicles to be driven automatically at reduced speed in the event of adverse weather conditions.

Depending on weather conditions, the scheduling of the intervention may be subject to change, which will be promptly communicated.
